Pre War

During 1933 Leonard married Agnes Effie Phillips (1906-1962). Agnes died on 27 Jan 1962, aged 56 at Mount Yokine. They had two children with one being Margaret Jillian Cant (1937 - 2014)

War Service

On 22 Mar 1942 Leonard enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allocated to 'D' Company of the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. Discharged on 2 Feb 1944 at his own request after 1 year and 323 days.
