Remarks
Assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theatre of operations
- Embarked the Australian Army 9th Division soldiers and transported them via Buna to the Huon Gulf.
- On 4 Sep 1943 during "Operation "Postern" landed at Red Beach to the east of the mouth of the Buso River east of Lae.
- Between 14 - 17 Sep 1943 conducted another landing and supported operations in the area.
- On 26 Dec 1943 made an amphibious landing at Cape Gloucester on New Britain.
- 2 Jan 1944 during "Operation Michaelmas" made an amphibious landing at Saidor unloading men from the U.S. 6th Army, 32nd Infantry Div.
- Between 17 Feb 1944 and 15 Mar 1944 she participated in the landings in the Admiralty Islands.
- Between 21 and 25 Apr 1944 participated in the landings at Aitape and Humboldt Bay-Tanahmerah Bay off Hollandia.
- Western New Guinea operations Toem-Wakde-Sarmi area operation, 17 to 18 and 23 to 25 May 1944.
- Biak Island operation, 27 to 29 May and 31 May to 4 June 1944
- Cape Sansapor operation, 30 July, 4 August, and 8 to 14 Aug 1944.
- Morotai landing, 15 Sep 1944.

Peacetime History
From 14 Jan 1946 until 5 Feb 1946 USS LST 456 remained in the Far East as part of Japan occupation service. On 5 Feb 1946 she was decommissioned and assigned to the Shipping Control Authority for Japan (SCAJAP) and redesignated Q043. On 31 Mar she was transferred to the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS) and redesignated USNS T-LST-456. On 15 Jun 1973 struck from the Naval Register and sold for merchant service.
On 27 Sep 1973 sold to Maritime Co., Ltd. in Khorramshahr, Iran and renamed MV Karkas. On 1 Feb 1993 sold to the United Arab Emirates and renamed MV Bashair. Fate unknown but most likely scrapped.
