War Service
Mervyn enlisted in the part time CMF at Armadale on 21 Oct 1941 and was called up for full time service on 5 Jan 1942. He served in the 2nd AIF from 10 Aug 1942 until 17 Dec 1945. His inital unit was the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment ww2 at Bunbury, later moving to Wanneroo. On 30 Jan 1942
Morotai 2 Jun - 8 Oct 1945. 17 May 1945 Mervyn was posted to Z Australian Special Unit 4 Nov 1945 [[[Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot]] for reallocation 8 Nov 1945 posted to 124th Australian general Transport Company 124 Dec 1945 transferred back to Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot's Discharge Section who discharged Mervyn on 17 Dec 1945.
