Pre War

During 1940 Albert married Alita Mary Williamson (1920 - 2007) in Boulder.

War Service

Enlisted on 19 Aug 1942 and was mustered as an Aircraftsman Trainee Group V andd held against No. 5 Embarkation Depot RAAF in Subiaco until 16 Oct 1942 when he was posted to No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF in Perth. A day later he was posted to No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF and remaine dwith them unil posted on 1 Nov 1942 to No. 5 School of Technical Training RAAF in Perth.


Following early skills training he was posted to No. 1 Engineering School RAAF in Ascot Vale, Victoria on 31 Apr 1943. Leaving his previous unit of training led to him being posted to No. 35 Squadron RAAF which was then located at Maylands. Albert was promoted Leading aircraftsman. While Albert was a member of the squadron it moved to Pearce on 6 Aug 1944 and then later to Guildford on 12 Aug 1944. Earmarked for overseas service, on 4 Oct 1944 Albert was posted to No. 2 Personnel Depot RAAF in Bradfield Park. On 24 Oct 1944 Albert was posted to No. 1 Reserve Personnel Pool RAAF in Townsville. They in turn posted him on 19 Nov 1945 to No. 100 Squadron RAAF in Tadgi, New Guinea.


With hostilities ended, on 23 Sep 1945 Albert reurned to No. 1 Reserve Personnel Pool RAAF at Townsville, returning then on 12 Oct 194 to Perth's No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF who discharged him on 15 Oct 1945.


Post War

Albert's first wife was with him in 1954, but in 1959 Albert married Ruth Doris Johanna Buchel (1928 - 1994). Ruth died on 6 Jul 1994 aged 66 in Bentley.
