Pre War
In 1923 Victor, whose father Luigi was a ganger for Millars at Jarrahdale, attended the Jarahdale Primary School. At the time of his enlistment he was working in the Moora region, and he enlisted there.
War Service
Original registration was Part time with the CMF on 14 Aug 1940 with Army number W13991. Victor was sent to the AASC Training Camp at Claremont. On 11 Oct 1941 he had completed his training and he was called up for full time duty from 15 Dec 1941 when he was posted to 121st Australian Reserve Motor Trasport Company as a driver. Victor was found guilty of being AWOL from midnight 21 Feb 1942 to 11:30pm 22 Feb 1942. Severely reprimanded he also forfeited a days pay (6/- or 60cents). On 4 Apr 1942 Victor faced a civil charge of gambling, and was fined £2 ($4). On 17 Jun 1942 Victor was evacuated to the 8th Australian Casualty Clearing Station at Pithara from Chidlows, rejoining his unit at Moora on 27 Jun 1942. He was granted leave from 9 - 12 July and then on 20 Aug 1942 he enlisted in the 2nd AIF and was transferred to the 138th Australian General Transport Company.
Victor was AWOl from midnight 2 Jan 1943 until midnight 5 Jan 1943 for which he was awarded 14 days Confined to Barracks (CB) and fofeited three days pay. On 22 Jan 1943 he was transferred to the 3rd Australian Corps Troops Ammunition Company, and on 14 Apr 1943 he was transferred again, this time to the 38th Australian Company ASC. On 15 Nov 1943 Victor was granted LWOP until 10 Jan 1944, and following his return to duty he was posted to the 137th Australian General Transport Company on 31 May 1944. On 31 Jul 1944 Victor was found guilty of having committed two breaches of Military Discipline on 27 Jul 1944:' Conduct to the prejudice of good order and Military Discipline'; and 'Behaving in a manner unbecoming a member of the Military Force'. He was awarded 7 days CB and fined £1 ($2). On 1 Nov 1944 he was transferred to the 124th Australian General Transport Company who detached him on several occassions to other units until he was transferred to the 125th Australian General Transport Company on 22 Jan 1945.
On 29 Mar 1945 Victor was transferred to the 1st Australian Base Depot Personnel and on 8 Apr 1945 to the 21st Australian Infantry Training Battalion. They in turn transferred him to the 32nd Australian Infantry Training Battalion on 2 May 1945. Initial infantry training completed, he was on 27 Jul 1045 sent to the Australian Reinforcement Training Battalion (Jungle Warfare) in Canungra. However, with the cessation of hostilities in August, Victor was posted back to WA for discharge, leaving Cununga on 2 Nov 1945. Victor was discharged from the Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot on 1 Apr 1946
Post War
On 15 May 1958 Victor married Hazel Maud MacArthur, maiden name Suiter? (1920 - 1993). Hazel died in Mandurah.
