War Service
Joseph's original enlistment was on a part time basis with the CMF on 7 May 1941, and he was called up for full time duty on 14 Nov 1941. Joe had been allocated to the 43rd Australian Infantry Battalion (Hindmarsh Regiment). Withthe battalion he moved to the Northern Territory, leaving Adelaide on 18 Dec 1941 and arriving in Darwin on Christmas Day 1941.
2nd AIF on 12 Nov 1942 Darwin 25 Dec 1941 - 28 Mar 1943 enlisted at Adelaide River, Northern Territory
converted to the 2nd AIF at Adelaide River on 12 Nov 1942.
Joseph and Muriel Doreen were married on 26 Aug 1944. Discharged 9 Jan 1947
