Pre War

On 25 Jun 1925, 3 year old Edith, accompanied by her 23 year old Mother Vera, sailed from London for Fremantle aboard SS Beltana. The family moved to Karridale where her sister and brother were born.

War Service

Edith enlisted in the RAAF at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre on 18 March 1942mustered as a Mess woman. She was sent the same day to the No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF at Pearce where she joined a Recruit Drill Course. On 16 Apr 1942 Edith was posted to the No. 4 Service Flying Training School RAAF at Geraldton. She was remustered asa a Cook on 7 Nov 1942. On 27 Jul 1957 Edith married John Bell (1908 - 1972) an engineer. This was John's third marriage. They had one child.
