On 3 Aug 1944 with inital training completed he was mustered as Air Crew II (P) and posted to No. 9 Elementary Flying Training School RAAF at Cunderdin. Training completedhe was sent to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF, and then on 29 Jan 1945 he was transferred to No. 4 Personnel Depot RAAF.
