Luke was mobilised on 2 May 1942 with Army Number W56369, and was called up for full time service on 12 May 1942. On 19 May 1942 Luke was transferred to the

On 3 Dec 1945 he was again admitted to the 2/7th Australian General Hospital this time until 10 December when he was transferred to the 113th Australian General Hospital.
