Enlisted part time in the CMF on 6 Mar 1941 and was allocated to the [[11th Australian Infantry Battalion (City of Perth Regiment)]]. On 16 Apr 1941 he was sent to the Melville Camp to begin his training which he completed on 14 Jul 1941. On 9 Oct 1941 he was transferred to the [[10th Australian Light Horse Regiment ww2]], later known as the ''10th Reconnaissance Battalion''. War Service

Enlisted part time in the CMF on 6 Mar 1941 and was allocated to the 11th Australian Infantry Battalion (City of Perth Regiment). On 16 Apr 1941 he was sent to the Melville Camp to begin his training which he completed on 14 Jul 1941.
