Brief History
Formed at RAF Upper Heyford on 8 Apr 1940 to train night bomber crews. The squadron was equipped with Handley Page Hampden aircraft. In May 1942 the unit was re-equipped with Vickers Wellington aircraft. Temporarily transferred to RAF Barford St John while runways were upgraded at Upper Heyford. Aircraft changed again, to Mosquito on 1 Jan 1945 and the unit was formally disbanded on 15 Mar 1947.
