Brief History

This unit was formed at Springvale, Victoria in August 1942 for attachment to the 2nd Australian Infantry Division which moved to Gingin in Western Australia during October. In December 1942 they moved to Rockingham, with a detachment on Garden island. In February 1943 they moved to Greenough, and to Mullewa in May before returning to Greenough in August, and Northam in January 1944. In Late March they departed from Western Australia, moving to the Northern Territory where by mid May 1944 they were located at the 48 mile camp, south of Darwin. In November they moved to the 38 mile camp, remaining there until January 1945 when they departed the Northern Territory for Greta in New South Wales where they were disbanded in April 1945.
