Brief History

The Western Command Troops Ammunition Company' was only partialy mobilised in December 1941 with only the section to support the 13th Infantry Brigade Group. It was transferred to the 4th Infantry Division AASCin April 1942. Whiel the rest of the unit remained inactive, it was renamed 3rd Australian Corps Troops Ammunition Company. In January their establishment was filled at Melville and they moved to Ardath in March where they were reorganised as 38th Australian Company AASC in April 1943. In May they moved to Werribee, and back to Melville in October, working around the Pewrth metro area.The unit was disbanded in June 1944.
