This unit was formed at Nuseirat, Palestine in October 1940 to train replacements for signals units. They moved around during March/April to Beit Jirja, Kilo 89 and Dimra before returning to Nuseirat in May 1941. When 1st Australian Corps was recalled to Australia they formed Signals Wing for AIF (ME) Reinforcement Depot before they left in March 1942. Their route home to AUstralia was via South Africa, arriving in Adelaide in June where the unit disbanded.
