Remarks

This ship had Armaments comprising 24 × QF 2 pounder naval guns (6 quadruple mounts) and 32 × Oerlikon 20 mm cannon. Once commissioned she left for he Pacific with Barracuda and Corsair aircraft. On arrival in Sydney she joined the 11th Aircraft Carrier Squadron of the British Pacific Fleet. In September 1945 she received the Japanese surrender at Rabaul before assisting with the retaking of Hong Kong before sailing home via Australia and Canada. Enroute to Australia she picked up the No. 80 Squadron RAAF at Tarakan.


HMS Glory then deployed to Korea from April until September of 1951; January to May 1952; and from November 1952 to May 1953. After the very active service of the Korean War, Glory saw out 1954 as a ferry, troop carrier and helicopter base. 1956 saw the end of the ship's active career, as she was placed in reserve. In 1961, Glory was sold for scrapping.
