USS LST 614
From Our Contribution
Remarks
USS LST 614 was assigned to the Asiatic - Pacific theatre of operations and she participated in the landings on Morotai (15 Sep 1944) before those American landings on Leyte (16 - 28 Oct 1944), on Luzon (6 - 17 Jan 1945) and at Mindanao Island (17 - 23 Apr 1945) in the Philippines. She was involved in carrying Australian personnel and stores to Labuan island from Morotai in late June 1945. She was hit by Japanese bombers off Mindoro (photo on internet) and caught fire but appears to have survived without major disruption to her service.
Following the end of the war LST 614 was assigned to Occupation and Chinese service from 2 Sep 1945 until 20 Jun 1946. She was sold on 13 Feb 1948 to Bosey, in the Philippines.
