Entering camp at Claremont on 24 Jul 1916, Claude was allocated to the 79th Depot Company. It was not until 9 Aug 1916 that he was allocated to the 23rd reinforcement draft for the 11th Battalion. Post War
During 1925 Claude married Lilith Adelaide Boundy in Katanning. Lilith died aged 60 in 1963.
