On 1 Nov 1942 having completed his entry drill training he was posted to the [[No. 4 School of Technical Training RAAF]] in Adelaide. On 14 Jan 1943 he was transferred again, this time to [[No. 3 School of Technical Training RAAF]] in Sydney. With training behind him, he was posted on 9 Sep 1943 to [[No. 1 Aircraft Depot RAAF]] in Laverton, Victoria.
