Brief History

This unit was raised in Haberfield, New South Wales for service in the Northen Territory, during April 1941. They moved to Darwin in June, and in July established a 250 bed facility at Katherine. In February 1942 they relocated to Adelaide River, and in May to Anaburoo Station. By the time they were relieved in August 1943 they had capacity for 1,000 patients. They moved to Strathalbyn in South Australia, remaining there for the rest of the war.
